Anyone who has ever loved a child can count the ways extended family, teachers, mentors, neighbors, coaches, and others show up for kids and families. Every relationship matters. Every action has a lasting impact. Join us at the Great Expectations Breakfast as we continue to ignite our collective power in support of kids’ success.
A great education is the path out of poverty
Attend the Aug. 22 Great Expectations Breakfast and bring a friend. Meet keynote speaker, Chris Coleman, CEO of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, and former St. Paul Mayor. He is a strong and effective advocate for education, economic development and racial equity. This event will provide opportunities for community residents to become informed, engaged and invested in the cradle-to-career educational success of all of our kids. The event is sponsored by Wayzata Community Church. Great Expectation’s anchor partners are Interfaith Outreach and the Wayzata and Orono School Districts.
Great Expectations is a collaborative school and community initiative designed to close the cradle to career educational opportunity and achievement gap for our kids. An estimated 500 preschool and 1,600 school-age kids need our help.
Come to connect with amazing community-based volunteers and partners who are changing the odds for struggling kids...and learn how YOU can help.

It started with a promise in a Wayzata church basement nearly 40 years ago. We will build a community where everyone counts, where all children are cherished and protected, and where family life is valued and supported by all. Since 1979, this great community has been leading; rallying and igniting the power of people to address the critical needs of our neighbors. What started as a small food shelf has become a resource for thousands of families in eight west Hennepin County communities. Learn more at www.iocp.org or 763-489-7500.
